Imagine foundation - Institute of genetic diseases
Genetic diseases are known as the first cause of pediatric hospitalisation in France and considered as a major public health issue. More than 35 million people are concerned in Europe and 30 million in the USA.
Imagine is a unique institute which performs state-of-the-art research in order to better understand genetic diseases and to bring faster to patients and their families the diagnostic and therapeutic solutions they are waiting for.
The Imagine Foundation aims to run a scientific and medical project of excellence, by organizing, structuring and developing on the campus on Necker-Enfants malades Hospital in Paris, research, care and teaching activities focused on genetic diseases from childhood to adulthood.
Imagine’s development plan revolves around 4 main themes:

1. Closeness of research and care teams which is essential to the implementation of an organization articulated around effectiveness, thanks to the construction of a new building dedicated to genetic diseases in 2013. |

3. Broadening of the field of competence of Necker’s 520 scientists, doctors, engineers and technicians, thanks to the welcome from 2013 onwards of international new talented teams, especially in the fields of developmental biology, neurosciences and stem cells differentiation. |
